वैसे तो पिछले डेढ़ वर्ष से केन्द्र में सत्तारूढ़ होने के बाद से संयुक्त प्रगतिशील गठबन्धन ने एक के बाद एक मुस्लिम तुष्टीकरण के ऐसे कदम उठाये हैं जो पिछले सारे रिकार्ड धवस्त करते हैं. पिछले वर्ष दो निजी टेलीविजन के साथ साक्षात्कार में कांग्रेस अध्यक्षा श्रीमती सोनिया गाँधी ने स्वीकार किया था कि मुसलमान कांग्रेस के स्वाभाविक मित्र हैं और उन्हें अपने पाले में वापस लाने का पूरा प्रयास किया जायेगा. यह इस बात का संकेत था कि मुसलमानों को कुछ और विशेषाधिकार दिये जायेंगे.
इसी बीच केन्द्र सरकार ने सेवा निवृत्त न्यायाधीश राजेन्द्र सच्चर की अध्यक्षता में एक आयोग बनाकर समाज के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में मुसलमानों की सामाजिक व आर्थिक स्थिति का आकलन करने का निर्णय लिया. सेना में मुसलमानों की गिनती सम्बन्धी आदेश को लेकर उठे विवाद के बाद उस निर्णय को तो टाल दिया गया परन्तु न्यायपालिका, कार्यपालिका और विधायिका में मुस्लिम भागीदारी का सर्वेक्षण अवश्य किया गया.
राजेन्द्र सच्चर आयोग ने अब अपनी विस्तृत रिपोर्ट प्रधानमन्त्री को सौंप दी है. इस रिपोर्ट के सार्वजनिक होने से पूर्व ही जिस प्रकार प्रधानमन्त्री डा. मनमोहन सिंह ने मुसलमानों की बराबर हिस्सेदारी की बात कह डाली वह तो स्पष्ट करता है कि सरकार ने मुसलमानों को आरक्षण देने का मन बना लिया है. इसकी झलक पहले भी मिल चुकी है जब आन्ध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमन्त्री ने अपने प्रदेश में मुसलमानों को आरक्षण दिया परन्तु आन्ध्र प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय ने उसे निरस्त कर दिया. फिर भी सरकार का तुष्टीकरण का खेल जारी रहा. संघ लोक सेवा आयोग में मुस्लिम प्रत्याशियों के लिये सरकारी सहायता, रिजर्व बैंक से मुसलमानों को ऋण की विशेष सुविधा, विकास योजनाओं का कुछ प्रतिशत मुसलमानों के लिये आरक्षित करना ऐसे कदम थे जो मुस्लिम आरक्षण की भूमिका तैयार कर रहे थे. अब सच्चर आयोग ने आरक्षण की सिफारिश न करते हुये भी मुस्लिम आरक्षण के लिये मार्ग प्रशस्त कर दिया है.
मुसलमानों को बराबर की हिस्सेदारी का सवाल उठा ही क्यो? इसका उत्तर हे कि हमारे सेक्यूलर वामपंथी उदारवादी दलील देते हैं कि इस्लामी आतंकवाद मुसलमानों के पिछड़ेपन का परिणाम है. इसी तर्क के सन्दर्भ में दो महत्वपूर्ण तथ्यों को समझना समीचीन होगा. सच्चर आयोग ने ही अपनी रिपोर्ट में कहा है कि देश की जेलों में बन्द कैदियों की संख्या में मुसलमानों की संख्या उनकी जनसंख्या के अनुपात से काफी अधिक है. भारत की जेलों में कुल 102,652 मुसलमान बन्द हैं और उनमें भी 6 माह से 1 वर्ष की सजा काट रहे मुसलमानों की संख्या का प्रतिशत और भी अधिक है. कुछ लोग इसका कारण भी मुसलमानों के पिछड़ेपन को ठहरा सकते हैं पर ऐसा नहीं है.
केवल भारत में ही नहीं फ्रांस, इटली, ब्रिटेन, स्काटलैण्ड और अमेरिका में भी जेलों में बन्द मुसलमानों का प्रतिशत उनकी कुल जनसंख्या के अनुपात में अधिक है. इसका कारण मुसलमानों का पिछड़ापन नहीं वरन् जेलों में गैर मुसलमान कैदियों का मुसलमानों द्वारा कराया जाने वाला धर्मान्तरण है. अभी हाल में मुम्बई में आर्थर रोड जेल में डी कम्पनी के गैंगस्टरों द्वारा हिन्दू कैदियों को धर्मान्तरित कर उन्हें मदरसों में जिहाद के प्रशिक्षण का मामला सामने आया था. यह उदाहरण स्पष्ट करता है कि मुसलमान का एकमेव उद्देश्य अपना धर्म मानने वालों की संख्या बढ़ाना है. इस कट्टरपंथी सोच को आरक्षण या विशेषाधिकार देने का अर्थ हुआ उन्हें अपना एजेण्डा पालन करने की छूट देना.
दूसरा उदाहरण 22 जून 2006 को अमेरिका स्थित सेन्ट्रल पिउ रिसर्च सेन्टर द्वारा किया गये सर्वेक्षण की रिपोर्ट है 6 मुस्लिम बहुल और 7 गेर मुस्लिम देशों में किये गये सर्वेक्षण के आधार पर प्रसिद्ध अमेरिकी विद्वान डेनियल पाइप्स ने निष्कर्ष निकाला कि दो श्रेणी के देशों के मुसलमान अलग-थलग और कट्टर हैं एक तो ब्रिटेन जहाँ उन्हें विशेषाधिकार प्राप्त है और दूसरा नाइजीरिया जहाँ शरियत का राज्य चलता है. अर्थात विशेषाधिकार मुसलमानों को और कट्टर बनाता है. ब्रिटेन का उदाहरण भारत के लिये प्रासंगिक है क्योंकि भारत की शासन व्यवस्था और राजनीतिक पद्धति काफी कुछ ब्रिटेन की ही भाँति है.
इन दृष्टान्तों की पृष्ठभूमि में केन्द्र सरकार के मुस्लिम तुष्टीकरण के पागलपन को समझने की आवश्यकता है विशेषकर तब जब जनता पार्टी के अध्यक्ष सुब्रमण्यम स्वामी सार्वजनिक रूप से श्रीमती सोनिया गाँधी के साथ इस्लामी संगठनों के सम्पर्क की बात कह चुके हैं. ऐसा लगता है इस्लाम बहुसंख्यक हिन्दू समाज की कनपटी पर बन्दूक रखकर आतंकवादी घटनाओं के सहारे अपने लिये विशेषाधिकार चाहता है.
वे जनसंख्या उपायों का पालन नहीं करेंगे और जनसंख्या बढ़ायेंगे , देश के किसी कानून का पालन नहीं करेंगें और ऊपर देश में बम विस्फोट कर आरक्षण तथा विशेषाधिकार भी प्राप्त करेंगे. यह फैसला हिन्दुओं को करना है कि उन्हें धिम्मी बनकर शरियत के अधीन जजिया देकर रहना है या फिर ऋषियों की परम्परा जीवित रखकर इसे देवभूमि बने रहने देना है.

According to a high level committee appointed by the Prime Minister of India in 2006, by the end of the 21st century India’s Muslim population will reach 320 to 340 million people (or 18% of India’s total projected population).[18] Swapan Dasgupta, a prominent Indian journalist, has raised concerns that the higher Muslim population growth rate in India could adversely effect the country’s social harmony

When the Muslim emperor Babur came down from Ferghana in 1527, he defeated the Hindu King of Chittodgad, Rana Sangrama Singh at Sikri, using cannon and artillery. After this victory, Babur took over the region, leaving his general, Mir Baqi, in charge as viceroy.
Mir Baqi allegedly destroyed the temple at Ayodhya, built by the Hindus to commemorateRama’s birthplace, and built the Babri Masjid, naming it after Emperor Babur.[9] Although there is no reference to the new mosque in Babur’s diary, the Baburnama, the pages of the relevant period are missing in the diary. The contemporary Tarikh-i-Babari records that Babur’s troops “demolished many Hindu temples at Chanderi”[10]
Palaeographic evidence of an older Hindu temple on the site emerged from an inscription on a thick stone slab recovered from the debris of the demolished structure in 1992. Over 260 other artifacts were recovered on the day of demolition, and many point to being part of the ancient temple. The inscription on the slab has 20 lines, 30 shlokas (verses), and is composed in Sanskrit written in the Nagari script. The ‘Nagari Lipi’ script was prevalent in the eleventh and twelfth century.
The first twenty verses are the praises of the king Govind Chandra Gharhwal (AD 1114 to 1154) and his dynasty. The twenty-first verse says the following; “For the salvation of his soul the King, after paying his obeisance at the little feet of Vamana Avatar (the incarnation of Vishnu as a midget Brahmana) went about constructing a wondrous temple for Vishnu Hari (Shri Rama) with marvelous pillars and structure of stone reaching the skies and culminating in a superb top with a massive sphere of gold and projecting shafts in the sky – a temple so grand that no other King in the History of the nation had ever built before.”
It further states that this temple (ati-adbhutam) was built in the temple-city of Ayodhya.
